I started regularly practicing meditation a year and a half ago, and the positive changes have been undeniable. Meditation has become my go-to for finding peace, reconnecting with my mind and body, and releasing everyday stress. While there are many forms of meditation, these three have become my personal favorites: Gratitude, Grounding, and Self-Esteem meditations.

Gratitude. Gratitude meditation has helped me shift my focus to the abundance and goodness already present in my life. In a world full of distractions and challenges, practicing gratitude pauses everything for a few minutes to acknowledge what we often take for granted.

How it works?

In a guided gratitude meditation, the instructor leads you to reflect on the people, experiences, and blessings you’re thankful for. They ask questions that help you identify and connect with the emotions these things bring, allowing you to truly feel appreciation for them.

The Impact:

This practice has made me more aware of the positives in my life. I now focus more on what I have instead of what I lack. Over time, I’ve learned to appreciate the small moments of joy and give more credit to the things that make life fulfilling.


Grounding. Grounding is all about being present and self-centered. It really helps if you’re feeling anxious. Anxiety will often make us worry about the future which brings fear of potential challenges and failure. Grounding makes me reconect with the present moment and my physical body. It creates a sense of stability.

How it works?

Grounding meditations typically involve visualizations of rooting yourself to the Earth, imagining energy flowing from your body into the ground. You focus on your breath and the sensations of your body making contact with the surface beneath you—whether that’s your feet on the floor or your body sitting still. This brings a calming, centering effect.

The Impact:

The goal is to reconect your body and mind with the present moment which will help you release stress and anxiety. It helps me find balance and peace in the present.


Self-Esteem. Self-Esteem meditation has been a game-changer in boosting my confidence and self-worth. Many of us struggle with self-doubt, negative self-talk, or overthinking. This meditation practice helps reframe these negative thoughts and fosters a more positive, empowering mindset.

How it works?

It involves positive affirmations and visualisations designed to strengthen your relationship with yourself. You’re guided to say phrases like “I am enough,” “I believe in myself,” or “I am deserving of love and success.” This practice is designed to strengthen your relationship with yourself and build inner confidence.

The Impact:

With regular practice, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my self-confidence and belief in my abilities. Self-esteem meditation has helped me let go of doubts and trust my decisions more. I feel empowered to create the life I want, both personally and professionally, which has led to more self-assurance and better outcomes in my life.
